Roller shades today are available in everything from cotton to dyed film. They roll from the top down, with the fabric rolling down from the back of the roller, or in reverse, effectively concealing the roller. Roller shades are typically installed in single, double hung or casement style windows. In addition to standard window treatments, these shades can be ordered with a reverse roll, in which the roller is concealed by the fabric. Or in most cases an optional cassette is available to conceal the roller as well.
The option of a decorative hem on the bottom of a roller shade is an upgrade option that can be done on most roller shades. Shown here is a decorative cut with trimming as an outline. Roller shades are a great option for a child’s room. Most fabrics are very durable, room darkening is available, and the option or a spring roller eliminates dangerous cords. Prices can vary by brand, size, fabric, motorization and lift options chosen.
